Booking a private celebration venue in South Florida involves more variables than most people expect — and the details that get glossed over in a sales call are often the ones that matter most on the day of your event. Here's what to actually ask before you commit.
Time Slots Matter More Than You Think
Many venues advertise flexible booking but operate on fixed time blocks behind the scenes. Understanding those blocks upfront helps you plan logistics — arrival, setup, event flow, and breakdown — without scrambling. At Collection One Studio, private celebrations are available weekends only across three defined time slots: Morning from 8am to 12pm, Afternoon from 2pm to 6pm, and Late Evening from 8pm to 2am. Each slot is booked in 4-hour increments with a 4-hour minimum. This structure exists intentionally — it protects the quality of each event by ensuring adequate time for setup and breakdown without overlap.
Weddings require a minimum of two consecutive time slots — either Morning and Afternoon, or Afternoon and Evening. This ensures you have the full runway you need for setup, ceremony, reception, and breakdown without feeling rushed at either end. When you're planning one of the most important days of your life, the last thing you want is a clock forcing the party to end before you're ready.
Who's Managing Your Event?
This question doesn't get asked nearly enough. When you book a venue, are you getting a space and a set of keys — or are you getting a partner? Many venues in Broward County operate a hands-off model: you rent the room, you figure out the rest. Staffing, coordination, vendor access, setup guidance — it's all on you. That works for some events, but for a private celebration where you want to actually enjoy the day, it's a lot to manage. Collection One Studio includes a dedicated on-site attendant with every booking. That person is not a temp hire — they're familiar with the space, the logistics, and how to keep things running smoothly so you can be present for your guests.
Understanding Security at Your Venue
It's worth asking any venue what security actually looks like. Is the building open to the public? Who controls access during your event? Our building operates with secured entry — access is controlled and your event remains private. For certain private events, a separate security fee applies. We coordinate everything; you'll never be left sourcing your own coverage the week before your party.
Weekday Bookings and Repasses
Private celebrations are a weekend-only offering at Collection One Studio — but we do allow repasses during the week for clients who need a weekday private booking. Contact us to discuss what that looks like for your specific situation.
